On Monday, April 20th, the team joined United Tribes Technical College, WOZU, and Bismarck Public Schools for Wanasa Pi — a traditional buffalo hunt gathered at UTTC's Jack Barden Center. Students and workforce staff met before sunrise, processed the harvest together on-site, and carried the teaching all the way through: nothing taken without purpose, and nothing wasted.
It's the same lesson the workforce program returns to all year — the hunt is a skill, but so is everything that happens after it. Processing, sharing, and teaching the next group how to do it are just as much the work as the harvest itself.
